Where I stayed in Playa Del Carmen: Polo 15 Suites

I had the perfect stay at Polo 15 Suites in Playa Del Carmen. I initially planned on spending the entire month in Tulum. But a friend (thank you, Alesha!) suggested Playa Del Carmen and staying at Polo 15 Suites. Coming to Playa and staying at Polo 15 Suites was the best decision I made.

Going through listings online can sometimes be overwhelming and you’re not always 100 percent sure if the place will look exactly like the photos. This is not the case with Polo 15 Suites. The suites at Polo 15 Suites are gorgeous and look exactly like the photos online. The building design is beautiful and it’s exactly the kind of place I imagined staying at when I envisioned this trip. I’ve traveled to several countries and stayed in countless apartments around the world and this is definitely one of the best places I’ve stayed. 

Where is Polo 15  Suites located

Polo 15 Suites is located in Playa Del Carmen in the Zazil-Ha area. The property is on 15th Avenue between 52nd and 54th street. What I love about staying at Polo 15 Suites is that you get to experience living in a local neighborhood and you’re a short walk from the 5th avenue tourist area. It’s about a five-minute walk from the property. For me, it was the best of both worlds! 

 

The Apartment

Polo 15 Suites are perfect for anyone who wants to visit Playa Del Carmen and stay at a chic, modern, and cozy apartment-style accommodation with a rooftop pool. I was in Playa for 25 days and in that short time, Polo 15 Suites started to really feel like my own little oasis. 

At Polo 15 Suites, you can choose to have a suite with a balcony or a kitchenette. I opted for the room with the kitchenette since I was planning to stay for a while. When I travel for an extended period of time, I like having access to a kitchen so that I don’t have to eat out for every meal. It also comes with a minifridge and a coffee maker. One of the best things I loved about having a suite with the kitchenette is that it came with the perfect workspace at the counter, which was super important for me since I work from home. And the internet connection was amazing…another bonus!

Polo 15 Suites also has units with balconies, which are just as nice and spacious. The suites with balconies come with a minibar and a coffee maker. These rooms also overlook the 15th avenue.

What’s nearby

There are several local places to grab food and a few local convenience stores just steps away from Polo 15 Suites where you can buy everything from small snacks, drinks, and some even sell fruit. There’s also an Oxxo, which is like a Mexican 7-11, close by. As I mentioned, Polo 15 Suites is about a five-minute walk from 5th avenue, which is where most of the shops, restaurants, and bars are located in Playa Del Carmen. 

 

How to book your stay

You can book your stay at Polo 15 Suites two different ways. I booked directly with Dulce Malagón, the concierge, via WhatsApp at +52 1 984 131 4323. The property is also listed on Airbnb. However, I highly recommend booking directly through Dulce on WhatsApp. 🙂 She’s so sweet and is really great at helping guests who stay at the property. 

How to get here

You’ll have to fly into Cancun and take a taxi or airport transportation service to Playa Del Carmen. Playa Del Carmen is about an hour drive from Cancun, without traffic. Polo 15 Suites offers to help guests with transportation from the airport to the property. I booked my transportation on my own through Cancun Airport and paid around $53 USD roundtrip. 

If you decide you want extra space, you can book your stay at Polo 88 which is a 15-minute walk from Polo 15 Suites. It’s perfect for larger groups or families. I’m obsessed with the rooftop pool at Polo 88.

Overall I enjoyed my stay at Polo 15 Suites. Not only was the apartment perfect, but the staff is wonderful and they made my stay in Playa Del Carmen extra special. The entire team is amazing and I’ll definitely come back to stay again. Thank you, Francisco, Dulce, Hilda, and Alex!!
