I remember, not too long ago, wanting to create a blog but knowing where to start. I strongly believe in the power of continuing education whether that’s learning from other people in your industry at events or purchasing courses online. 

Now that I’ve had my blog up and running for a little over 5 months now, people ask me the same questions I had before I started blogging. “how did you start your blog?” “who designed your site?” “What platform did you build your blog on?” etc.

Honestly, there’s no secret sauce or magic that went into creating my blog. But it did take A LOT of work and A LOT of trial and error to get it to where it is now. Since I put my blog out into the world several months ago I’ve landed brand collaborations, remote freelance work, and it’s become a place for me to connect with people like you around the world who have similar interests.

It always amazes me how much blogging and building an online brand has taken off. I was recently at a blogging event in DC (hey DC bloggers!) and the blogger speaking told everyone she makes more money online than she ever did in her previous jobs! Her blogging success reminded me of a quote I heard from Marie Forleo in a webinar recently, “content is the new currency. We’re all looking for information, and inspiration, and education on a variety of topics.” I couldn’t agree more.

I’ve seen first hand how blogging and having an online presence has opened doors not only for myself but for other people I’ve met online and #IRL.
