How to Escape Winter Without Breaking the Bank

*Actual footage of me after someone shares with me how to escape winter without breaking the bank.*

I’m all about creating and finding amazing travel experiences without spending a crazy amount of money. This applies to everything from flights to accommodations and trip activities. I’m not the backpacking budget traveler. However, I consider myself to be a smart traveler, which means ya girl likes her fair share of luxury experiences at a good price. After coming across a recent study by Internet Marketing apparently, you guys feel the same way.

According to Internet Marketing Inc., 85% of millennials check multiple sites before booking their travel to get the best deal possible. While millennials can be budget conscious, they do enjoy luxury experiences. I’m going to save you time searching and let you in on a secret I’ve just become aware of to help you plan your next trip this winter…without breaking the bank.

A friend of mine, Pablo, recently posted that he bought a round trip flight from DC to Hawaii for $350. If you’ve ever considered traveling to Hawaii and did a quick search for flights, you know this is a STEAL! Especially around this time of the year when most people are planning a winter escape.

I can’t tell you how many posts I’ve seen this winter about the cold weather and people either wishing it was warmer or posts about people wanting to plan a getaway to a warmer location. Planning a vacation around this time of the year can be tricky because a lot of other people are thinking the same thing, which means flights and accommodations are typically a lot higher to places in the Caribbean and stateside destinations like Florida, Southern California…and basically anywhere that has warm weather.

So obviously when I saw his post, I had to know how he got such a great deal. He shared with me his secret to finding this flight: Scott’s Cheap Flights.

It was my first time hearing about it. Here’s how it works: First go to their website. Once you get to their site, sign up for their newsletter to receive flight notification emails daily. What’s really interesting is that the information sent to your inbox is curated based on your location. You can set it up to send you flight deals from airports that are closest to you.

I signed up with a few sites a while back and get notifications daily. But they’re not curated like this. I actually wrote another blog post about flights. (You can find it here.)

I Know The Pilot” is another site that works similarly to Scott’s Cheap Flights.

I want to give a HUGE thanks to Pablo for inspiring this post. I love sharing these tips with you guys to show you how accessible traveling can be.

Have you heard of the flight deal sites I mentioned in the post? What type of traveler are you? Drop me a line in the comments section below. I love hearing from you guys!
