Since I’ve been back home road trips (long and short) have become my thing. I take full advantage of traveling every chance I get. Yesterday I drove to Baltimore, which is where I’m writing this from, to hang out with friends. It rained the entire drive here and I was stuck in traffic for what seemed like an eternity. A three and a half hour drive took over five hours! *inserts facepalm emoji*
While the drive was incredibly long, I found myself thinking about a dream I had the other day about setting intentions. It was one of those dreams that felt so real. I woke up thinking “did that really happen?”
I was back at one of my old jobs in New York. I had gone back after traveling around the world for several months. The crazy thing about it is, I went back to work as if I’d never left. I came in at the time I had always gone in at and sat down at my desk and started working. This went on for about a week and until someone finally came up to me and asked: “what are you doing back here?” and “what do you want to do?” “what is your goal?”
In my dream, I didn’t have an answer. I remember saying “I have no idea.” This person left and came back a few minutes later with a goal setting worksheet for me to fill out. And then I woke up just as I started writing. I feel as though my dream is definitely a reminder of the importance of setting intentions.
2019 is right around the corner and this is usually the time you start to see a lot of posts about creating New Year Resolutions and goal setting. This past year has been an interesting one, for sure. Some wins, some losses but most importantly a lot of growth.
There are several things I’m working on for you guys which will be on the blog in the New Year. I can’t wait to share with you soon!
My friend that I’m staying with here in Baltimore, sent me a screenshot of a quote she came across today on Instagram. It read, “today (12/21) is the Winter Solstice, it’s the perfect day to set intentions as seeds deep within consciousness itself.”
What intentions are you setting?
